Shawn McClain is a practicing physical therapist with over 19 years of extensive orthopedic experience. Her areas of expertise are spine dysfunction/injury, sports injuries, and fibromyalgia. She has a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC). She has worked with pre and post surgical patients, and while she specializes in spinal dysfunction, she is well versed in all areas of the body.
Shawn has a unique approach to rehabilitation. She treats the body as a whole unit and does not just look at the affected body part. Shawn uses a hands-on approach for treatment and spends time performing soft tissue mobilization and manual therapy techniques. She believes in one on one interaction with her clients and schedules appointments to allow 45 -60 minutes of personalized attention with each patient.
For all her patients, Shawn uses Pilates as a rehabilitation technique to create strength, coordination and improved function. Shawn has been teaching and practicing the STOTT PILATES® rehabilitation method for over 6 years. She has also been teaching and practicing yoga for over 15 years and uses restorative yoga poses to help bring the body into balance after injury or surgery.
